National Park Service hosts an informative site about coastal processes. While this site primarily addresses coastal processes on ocean coasts, much of this information is also applicable to the Great Lakes.
Living on the Coast is a booklet, published by the US Army Corps of Engineers and Wisconsin Sea Grant Program, that provides Great Lakes specific information on coastal processes.
For general information about the Great Lakes, the US Environmental Protection Agency created The Great Lakes: An Environmental Atlas and Resource Book in 1995. Keep in mind the date when considering the statistics shared in this book (especially those related to economy).
The State of Michigan has created six videos designed to inform coastal managers on how to build coastal resilience into coastal planning and policies. The videos are also informative for coastal land-owners as they consider how best to address the safe enjoyment of their properties.
